Function and precautions of hydrocyclone

Hydrocyclone is one of Hesper’s main products, it has high classification efficiency, simple structure and large processing capacity. Hydro cyclone is currently the most widely used classification, desludging and dehydration equipment.

Function of hydro cyclone:

The hydro cyclone is a typical multi-functional equipment. In metal and non-metallic ores, it can be a good partner of the mill as a part of the classification system. In gravity separation, it can take on the task of desludging. In sand washing, it can be a dewatering device. In tailing  treatment, it can concentrate the tailing, so that they can be sent to underground mining tunnels for filling.

Precautions of hydrocyclone:

During the use of the hydrocyclone, the material particles will bring constant impact and friction to the places they pass through, so the main failure of the hydrocy clone is wear and tear.

For the wear of the cylinder wall, we can replace the cylinder wall with a more wear-resistant material. For example, the inner wall of the cylinder can be lined with rubber or cast iron, or a wear-resistant coating can be sprayed, or even the entire cylinder can be made of wear-resistant rubber to increase the wear resistance of the hydrocyclone.

For the wear problem near the feed inlet and the sand settling nozzle, the idea of replacing accessories can be adopted. The parts that are prone to wear can be designed as replaceable accessories. When worn, there is no need to replace the entire machine, but only a small part can be replaced.

Another issue is the installation of the hydro cyclone. Improper installation is also one of the causes of wear. Although most hydro cyclone use vertical installation, it is actually ok to install it diagonally, upside down, or horizontally. You just need to communicate your needs with the manufacturer and install it correctly according to their instructions.
