Metal Expansion Joints also called metal corrugated compensator, it composed by metal bellows and accessories such as end pipe, support, flange and conduit. Metal expansion joints can be used to absorb the dimensional changes of pipelines, conduits and containers caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction, or to compensate the axial, transverse and angular displacement of pipelines, conduits and containers. It also can be used for noise reduction and vibration reduction.

Functions

1.Compensate the axial, lateral and angular thermal deformation of the absorption pipeline.

2.The expansion and contraction of the corrugated compensator is convenient for the installation and disassembly of the pipeline.

3.Absorb equipment vibration and reduce the impact of equipment vibration on the pipeline.

4.Absorb the deformation of the pipeline caused by the earthquake and ground subsidence.

Applications

Acid, alkali, corrosion, oil, hot water, cold water, compressed air, compressed weather, flue gas pipeline, pulverized coal pipeline, desulfurization pipeline, etc.

Installation

1.The type, specification and pipeline configuration of the metal expansion joints should be checked before installation, and it must meet the design requirements.

2. For expansion joints which with inner sleeves, care should be taken to ensure that the direction of the inner sleeve is consistent with the flow direction of the medium, and the hinge rotation plane of the hinge-type compensator should be consistent with the displacement plane.

2.The expansion joints which need to be “cold-tightened”, and auxiliary components used for pre-deformation should be removed after the pipeline is installed.

4.Strictly prohibited to use deforming the corrugated compensator to adjust the installation tolerance of the pipeline, avoid to affect the normal function of the compensator, or will reduce the service life and increase the load of the piping system, equipment and supporting components.
